| Tourists in Vermont |
7/10/07: A sampling of out of towners on Church St one evening. Vermont is a popular summer tourist destination. Where do people come from, what do they do here and what do they think of the state? Big draws are Lake Champlain, the shopping, the Ben and Jerry's factory and VT Teddy Bear Co. Also, many people do day trips from Canada. Location: Church St, Burlington Vermont

| Strange sighting on Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont |
UPDATE: I have removed commenting. I put this up because it was strange, not because I think it is "Champ." I shot this video (with cellphone) of SOMETHING in the lake at Oakledge Park on Sunday (05/31/09) early am (0530 or so). Was anyone else out and about around Oakledge on Sunday just after sunrise who saw this as well?

| Lana Turner (Moonlight In Vermont) |
Just a little Lana Turner tribute I threw together with Margaret Whiting singing "Moonlight In Vermont". Since Lana was known to be a romantic, I thought it just fit. I'm looking forward to her daughter Cheryl Crane's coffee table book of Lana's life and career, due out in October. Happy viewing! | Vermont Town Votes to Impeach Bush & Cheney |
For the second year in a row, the small town of Putney, Vermont joined many other towns around the state to call for Articles of Impeachment to be brought before George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. The vote occurred during Putney's annual Town Meeting Day, an example of direct democracy common in New England but becoming rare in the rest of the United States.

4/20/07, Mail Art, SPA, Barre VT: Studio Place Arts is having three art openings on each of its floors Friday, April 27th. One of the floors will be devoted to items that have been shipped through the post. Gabrielle Dietzel and Delia Robinson have been sending mail art for decades. When they were neighbors, they sent each other strange things in the mail which they never spoke of: half eaten muffins, dog toys, children's shoes, a french press lid. The trick is to mail the object WITHOUT an ...

Pretty tune...love the Sinatra version. One of the swingest versions is by Mulgrew Miller on the Contemporary Piano Ensemble album 'Four Pianos for Phineas'. He is a perfect blend of taste, space and light virtuosity. Check out the block chords he does! Phineas also does a lovely version on While My Lady Sleeps which is an album featuring him with strings. James Williams told me that Phineas just turned up at the studio and sight-read all the arrangements with no prior practice. After every ...
