| The Red Tide - Thailand |
April 2010 The red tide thats just swept through Bangkok is just a hint of Thailands growing political tensions. As the succession day draws ever nearer, democracy and the royal institution grow further apart. Long live the King and hope that he will be in good health to be our beloved King forever! Even with the massive people power of the red shirt demonstrations thronging through Bangkok, there is no denying the love felt for Thailands 82 year old King Bhumipol Aduyadej. Yet the wall of silence from the royal family is pushing some royalists away. Thailands strict laws of lese majeste, have forbidden open discussion regarding the Kings health...and Prime Minister, Abhisit Veijajiva, will only suggest that the crown prince , a man plagued by damaging rumours, will likely step into the Kings shoes. The laws of lese majeste, silenced former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatrs allegations that palace insiders plotted a coup to throw him from power 2 years agoand have lent weight to a growing feeling that democracy is incompatible with Thailands traditional institutions. As the recent protests show, Thaksin is determined to regain power, and the royal family will do anything to stop an opposition takeover. Thaksin wont go down by himself, says a political analyst, he will drag his enemies down with him and, in the process, Thailand. Produced by SBS Dateline, Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

| Thai TV - Thailand Video: Baby Cobra in the Street - Southern Thailand |
My Thai TV -Thai Video channel: www.youtube.com We found a baby cobra in the street and stopped to play with him a bit. Shot with friend's Canon d90. Awesome little cobras these things are. They're everywhere here in the south of Thailand. Baby cobras are as deadly as adult cobras. This cobra's venom, per milliliter is stronger than a King Cobra's venom..

| Thailand: Land of Beauty, Land of Smiles |
Could this be the most beautiful song in the world? This magical song is really something special... I fell in love with it while vacationing in Thailand in January and February of 2006. Over the weeks I was there, I heard this song many times, almost becoming a soundtrack for my vacation. When I got back home, I found I had shot over 15 hours of video, so I decided to use this music for my homage to the wonderful, gentle people of Thailand. Just as I can't get this song out of my mind, I can't get Thailand out of my mind; I love it there and can't wait to get back... and stay forever. The song was sung by Orrawee Sajjanont, and the name of the song is "Waow Sieng Seung" and by all means, watch the original music video here: www.youtube.com She must have one of the sweetest voices I have ever heard, smooth as Thai silk... Enjoy... Doug Robinson PS - Her website is www.orrawee.com. On the web, I found alternative spellings for her name "Orawee Sutjahnon", "Orawee Sujjanon", "Orawee Sajjanonda".
