The Armenians (Armenian: Õ€Õ¡ÕµÕ¥Ö€, Hayer) are a
nation and ethnic group originating in the
Caucasus and in the Armenian Highlands. A large
concentration of them has remained there,
especially in Armenia, but many of them are also
scattered elsewhere throughout the world. The
Armenians have had a significant presence in
countries such as Georgia, Iran, Russia, and
Ukraine due to their proximity to Armenia. After
the Armenian Genocide, a large influx of survivors
fled to France, the United States, Argentina, the
Levant and other countries that welcomed the
Armenians. There are an estimated 15 to 25 million
Armenians around the world.[1]
Christianized in the early 4th century, Arsacid
Armenia became the first Christian nation,
although Christianity had began to spread in
Armenia soon after Christ's death, due to the
efforts of two of his apostles, St. Jude and St.
Bartholomew [29][30], thus most Armenians adhere
to the Armenian Apostolic Church. They speak two
different, but mutually intelligible dialects of
their language: Eastern Armenian, spoken mainly in
Armenia, Iran and the former Soviet republics, and
Western Armenian, spoken primarily in the Armenian
diaspora. Tags : Armenia Armenie Hayastan Haykakan Armenian Power Armenians Armeniens Hayer Beautiful nature Yerevan |

The Armenians (Armenian: Õ€Õ¡ÕµÕ¥Ö€, Hayer) are a
nation and an ethnic group originating in the
Caucasus and eastern Anatolia. A large
concentration of them has remained there,
especially in Armenia, but many of them are also
scattered elsewhere throughout the world (see
Armenian diaspora). The Armenians have had a
significant prescence in countries such as Russia,
Georgia (country) and Iran due to their proximity
to Armenia. After the Armenian Genocide, a large
influx of survivors fled to France, the United
States, Argentina, the Levant and other countries
that welcomed the Armenians. There are an
estimated 10 to 15 million Armenians around the
world.
In 301 AD, Armenians became the first people to
accept Christianity as state religion. Because of
religious disputes, they established a separate
branch of Christianity, the Armenian Apostolic
Church, to which most Armenians adhere.
Armenians speak two different, but mutually
intelligible dialects of their language: Eastern
Armenian, spoken mainly in Armenia and the
Caucasus, and Western Armenian, spoken primarily
in the Armenian diaspora.
Armenians have developed unique, long-lasting, and
modern culture through contact with both Europe
and Asia. Traditional Armenian dance and music are
among the oldest, richest and most original ones
in the Near East, and are still learnt and
practised today. Armenian cuisine, as ancient as
the people itself, is a combination of different
tastes and aromas native to the Armenian Highland.
Over time, it has been spread to neighbouring
nations and to the New World by the Armenian
diaspora. Tags : Armenia Armenie Hayastan Haykakan Armenian Power Armenians Armeniens Hayer Beautiful nature |

The French Philosopher and Writer, Bernard-Henri
Levy, author of a number of books (American
Vertigo, 2006) and essays, and someone personally
committed to supporting major global causes,
considered it important to participate in a
high-level meeting in Paris organized by the
Co-ordination Council of Armenian Organisations of
France (CCAF), in the presence of Charles
Aznavour, many political figures from a variety of
trends and numerous Jewish and Armenian
organizations, on the need to prevent the denial
of the Armenian Genocide through the adoption of a
Law condemning revisionist authors.
This historical speech for all Armenians around
the world sheds a highly philosophical, moral and
legal light against revisionist theories at a time
when American congressmen have expressed their
opinions on a Resolution on the Armenian Genocide,
Res. 106, and while Turkish diplomacy is going
through great lengths to prevent the adoption of
the Resolution by influencing Jewish organizations
and the State of Israel in particular.
This document forcefully cries out "Solidarity for
the befallen" and reminds citizens of the world
that the moral values of democracy cannot cohabit
with geographic strategies at the risk of seeing
other crimes against humanity, such as the recent
ones in Rwanda and Darfur, repeating themselves. Tags : genocide armenian denial BHL shoah holocauste jew israel germany |
