| Nathan Hughes "The Solo Bassist Songwriter- Glove |
 |
I posted Nathan's video a ways back and the
reception has been wonderful for Nate. He is
currently working on a project for release to
those who enjoy. There are several other songs by
Nathan on my account if you want to get a better
read and scope of his talents. In addition you can
speak or check out more material at
http://www.myspace.com/nathanplaysbass, ask
questions or just drop in and chat it up. Nathan
is undiscovered, records on his PC and is one of
the most unique musicians i have ever come across.
His ability to write music from the bass is simply
outstanding and his humility and respect for his
own talent and that of others the true quality of
his craft. Vote Him Up, if you think he deserves a
shot. Thanks All...EL Tags : Bass Nathan Hughes |

| Hot Water Music bassist gets pissed |
 |
This is from a show at 533 Uprisings in
Winston-Salem, NC in the late 90's. Hot Water
Music played a well received show until the last
song when the encouraged crowd got so into the set
that someone bumped something and the bassists amp
got broken. He loses his cool and blames the
crowd.
Also note on the left hand side of the video on
stage is a young Adam Lazzara, lead singer of the
band Taking Back Sunday. Tags : hot water music, angry, bass, bassist, pissed, crowd, show, Adam Lazzara, winston-salem, 533 Uprisings, Taking Back Sunday, hardcore, emo, punk |

| FORMER CREED BASSIST RECALLS DARK NEW DAY |
 |
Brett Hestla joined Dark New Day, a somewhat of an
all-star band of the nu-metal scene, after
settling into life as a producer. Hestla took the
wild ride that was the end of Creed, filling in
for the fired bassist Brian Marshall for the
band's last tour. Creed's last gig was a famous
New Year's Eve show nearly three years ago in
which singer Scott Stapp appeared to be heavily
influenced by drugs and/or alcohol. The show was
so bad thanks to Stapp’s erratic
behavior; the band broke up soon after. With
problems brewing within that band, Hestla, who
earlier in his career had small success as the
singer/songwriter for the Atlantic band Virgos
Merlot, took mental notes on the experience.

Lyrics:
So it's late and there you are at the end of the
room,
Next to a photograph of you before
Prozac pillows smothered you in their dark spring
bloom—
a downy sleep apnea for a waiting tomb.
Take off that funeral dress,
It isn't like you to overdress.
Who are you trying to depress,
When you know that I love you nonetheless?
Your shroud of white lace and wisteria
Makes dying in my arms anesthesia—
Our capitulating hysteria.
Into the hereafter: our dark utopia.
Take off that funeral dress,
Who are you trying to impress?
In the absence of my caress
Know that I love you nonetheless.
All the décor gaudy like it's Christian Dior,
But it's only you that I darkly adore.
I'm Edgar Allan to your wilted Lenore.
Un bel amour, allé à une belle mort!
Take off that funeral dress,
You know that it causes me distress.
What do you want me to profess,
When you know that I love you nonetheless?
Take off that funeral dress,
Who are you trying to impress?
In the absence of my caress
Know that I love you nonetheless. Tags : Ryan Holmes bassist bass solo The Cure New Live Rock |

With rock and roll reality shows being all the

Supergroup or Supernova? Supergroup was the VH1

ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, Anthrax
guitarist Scott Ian, Jason Bonham, Biohazard
bassist Evan Seinfeld and classic rock axeman
extraordinaire, Ted Nugent. Supernova was Tommy
Lee of Motley Crue, Jason Newsted formerly of
Metallica, Gilby Clarke formerly of Guns N' Roses,
