| England - Canterbury |
 |
The city of Canterbury, or as the Romans called it
-- Durovernum Cantiacorum, lies in Kent in the
southeast region of England. Pope Gregory the
Great sent Augustine to the area in 597 A.D. to
convert the heathen English, and after asking
permission of King Athelbert of Kent, Augustine
built his priory on the present cathedral grounds.
Thomas Becket, archbishop of Canterbury, was
murdered in the building in 1170. The cathedral
has grown massive over the years and is now the
oldest church in England that's still in use. The
city is charming, with great shopping and
tremendous history and heritage, and it's a lot
more fun than it was when Geoffrey Chaucer wrote
"The Canterbury Tales" in 1387. Tags : Great Britain Canterbury Kent England Cathedral Chaucer Becket |

| Canterbury Tales-a WoW movie for English project |
 |
For my high school English project on the
Canterbury Tales, I decided to make a movie to
portray the Pardoner's tale. Not just a regular
movie...it's a movie made from World of Warcraft.
That's right ladies and gentlemen, I used a video
game for a formal English project, and the best
thing of all? I got the highest grade in my class
with a 210/200, and the teacher (and everyone
else) loved it!
Please give credit for combining academics and
gaming, if not the humble video itself :p Tags : world warcraft wow canterbury tales video project english game |

| Dr. Enelow Raps the Canterbury Tales |
 |
Dr. Enelow raps the canterbury tales in middle
english. (thanks for the correction!)
Found this on youtube and rotated it 90 degrees
counter-clockwise and cropped it.
This is from 2006, but when I had his class in
high school (1996) he did it then too. Good stuff. Tags : rap canterbury oldenglish enelow |
