ATTENTION: This video was uploaded with the
intention of getting oppinions about que video's
quiality, and not oppinions about Chile or any
other country.

Chile, isn't that a kind of hot pepper? Chile,
what's that? Where is it? These are some of the
questions that have been heard for many years by
Chilean diplomats, exporters and travelers abroad.
It appears that Chile's geographical isolation
from the world's leading industrial and cultural
centers has limited knowledge of the country among
many people elsewhere.
To remedy this situation -- and in keeping with
the world trend to consider a country's
international image a relevant component of its
competitiveness -- the State and the private
sector have come together to create a Chile brand,
which will help strengthen the country's messages
abroad and allow more effective use of the
resources dedicated to communication and
marketing.
According to its creators, the "All Ways
Surprising" motto integrates three broad ideas:
the country's breathtaking, diverse and unusual
geography; its warm, efficient and enterprising
inhabitants; and its stability, openness to the
world, solid institutions and people who are true
to their word.

Tribute to Chilean Political Singer and activist
Victor Jara, murdered by dictator Pinochets troops
on 15th September 1973. This followed the military
coup on 9/11 1973 which overthrew the
democratically elected government led by Salvator
Allende. Allende was found dead in La Moneda
(Presedential Palace) beside an AK47 given to him
by Fidel Castro, allegedly after commiting
suicide. Victor Jara, after singing a political
song to other prisoners in the National Stadium,
has his fingers and ribs smashed by Pinochets
troops. Sung by Christy Moore.

Alcalde de Futaleufú: Más del 40% de la
población ya se fue de la comuna
El alcalde de Futaleufú, Arturo Carvallo,
conversó esta mañana con ADN Hoy donde aseguró
que más del 40 por ciento de la población ya se
fue de la comuna, debido a las cenizas que siguen
cayendo en el sector por la erupción del volcán
Chaitén.
Con este panorama, muchas personas decidieron
emprender viaje hacia las localidades cercanas en
Argentina y otros se refugiarán en Puerto Montt,
tal como lo dispuso la Presidenta, pero sigue
quedando gente que no tiene los medios para huir
de la zona, por lo que el edil señaló que
entregarán ayuda a tales personas.
"Nosotros le brindaremos todas las facilidades
para que la gente pueda abandonar la zona.
Llegarán ocho buses desde Osorno que estarán a
disposición de quienes quieran salir del lugar",
señaló Carvallo.
"En este momento todo está gris.Tenemos una
tremenda capa de cenizas y que con el agua que
cayó, lo dejó como cemento", enfatizó.
Ante esto, el alcalde dijo que están a la espera
de lo que haga el volcán, pero que por el momento
tienen agua potable gracias a la labor de la
empresa privada que proporciona dicho elemento.
En cuanto a la visita que realizará la Presidenta
Bachelet en horas del dÃa, Carvallo señaló que
lo más importante es tranquilizar a la comunidad,
por lo alterado que está el ambiente ante la
impotencia de perder su ganado, que es la fuente
económica.
"Le pido a la Presidenta que le entregue
tranquilidad a la comuna. Que sea una señal para
que la gente no sienta que está perdiendo todo su
ganado, que es su capital de subsistencia",
finalizó el edil.
El poblado de Futaleufú está ubicado a 60
kilómetros al sur de Chaitén y tiene cerca de 20
centÃmetros de ceniza. La gente ha tenido que
evacuar debido a la falta de agua y alimentos.
La ministra de Agricultura, Marigen Hornkohl,
señaló hoy a Radio Cooperativa desde Puerto
Montt, que ya se inició un catastro de todas las
cabezas de ganado en la zona, previendo una
posible catástrofe ganadera provocada por las
cenizas del volcán y la contaminación de las
aguas.
El volcán Chaitén, que alcanza unos 1.200 metros
de altura, comenzó su actividad la madrugada del
pasado viernes, lanzando una columna de humo que
se alzó por más de 20 kilómetros y era visible
a gran distancia.
Tras estar inactivo por 400 años -según estudios
geológicos-, la lluvia de ceniza que ha expulsado
el volcán llegó incluso a la provincia argentina
de Chubut, dejando a oscuras a las localidades de
Esquel y TrevelÃn.
