more car developers making hybrid and electric
cars, Suzuki is exploring the concept of hybrid
motorcycles with their crosscage, a fuel cell
powered bike with a unique engine and body design.
Crosscage's air cooled fuel cell designed by
British company Intelligent Energy helps slim down
this design by eliminating the need for a radiator
or coolant system. Located just above the
hydrogen fuel tank, the fuel cell is very compact,
light, and powerful. It sends power to the motor
controller which stores it in the lithium ion
battery or sends it to the motor. Through
combining oxygen in the air and hydrogen from the
fuel tank to create power this motorcycle's
exhaust is only water vapor thus helping reduce
CO2 emissions and protect the environment. On a
single tank of hydrogen the crosscage can travel
about 200km and has the power equivalent of
125ccs.
The crosscage from which the motorcycle gets its
name is not merely an aesthetic choice but also
protects the hydrogen fuel tank which is located
directly behind the intersecting point. There is
also a sensor at the top of the chassis which
constantly checks for hydrogen leaks and shuts off
the fuel tank if there are any abnormalities.

マイクロマウス競技は、小型の移動
ボットが迷路を走り抜ける速さと知
を競う競技です。競技に出場するロ
ボットをマイクロマウスと呼んでい
す。
日本で競技が始まったのは1980年。ロ
ット競技としては長い歴史を持って
おり、毎年常に最先端の技術を競う
となっています。
2009年秋には、従来の半分のサイズコ
スによる新たなマイクロマウス競技
会が始まる。
それにあわせて、株式会社アールテ
は、来年（2008年）6月にハーフサイ
マイクロマウスキット「ピーコ」を
売する。
約5cm立方の機体にロボットテクノロ
ーが凝縮されており、USB接続、microSD
カードリーダーを標準で搭載してい
。また、分離・交換が可能な4つのピ
ースによって構成されているため、
易にオプション基盤への換装や自作
盤の取り付けが可能。
小型化と高性能化を両立した機体で
広大な迷路を高速で駆け抜ける。

array of new features. INFOBAR 2 features round
contours for a smooth hand-fit, and its new tile
keyboard provides superior operability.
The INFOBAR 2 comes with an autofocus 1.9
megapixel CMOS camera.
INFOBAR 2's organic EL display renders beautiful
photo images on its 2.6-inch display screen and
let's you access wide-angle, high-contrast
resolution 1seg programs. The 1seg upgrade
function eliminates the need for an antenna in
strong electromagnetic zones. The stereo speaker
yields high-quality sound for 1seg programs with
its compatibility with the latest digital signal
processing technology.
The INFOBAR can be used as a desktop folder. The
camera function could also be used like a memo.
Users can take the picture of a handwritten memo
or illustrations, save it as an image without the
ruled markings or shades and send it like an
email. Other memo functions include the IC
recorder to send voice recording. You can also use
the camera to take a picture of an English or
Japanese word in conjunction with a dictionary and
translation tool.
KDDI will release INFOBAR 2 in Japan at the end of
November 2007.

At the Good Design Award Expo 2008, Sanyo
displayed a range of their products developed in
line with the companies GAIA design concept. The
display include the Eneloop branded line of
products, which won the Good Design Grand Prize
for 2007.
The Eneloop products on display include solar
chargers for charging Eneloop rechargeable
batteries and charging stations for Wii remote
controls.
Sanyo states that with the expanded production of
the Eneloop line and wider use of rechargable
batteries in general, the number of batteries
produced could be reduced from the current 40
billion units per year, to half that by the year
2020 with a resulting CO2 reduction of 1 million
tons.
The AQUA line of washing machines was also on
display. The environmentally conscious features
include; Ozone Rinsing, which uses ozone infused
water to dissolve greasy stains, Air Wash 3, for
disinfecting, deodorizing, and removing stains
from clothes in a 10 minute dry wash cycle, and
Aqualoop direct, which can purify used bathwater
by infusing it with ozone, and then reuse it to
wash clothes, reducing the amount of tap water
used from the 174 liters used in a typical washing
machine to only 7 liters for one load of washing.

ャージャーなどが展示されました。
三洋電機は、「Eneloop」製品の生産拡
や充電池の広範な普及に伴い、電池
の1年あたり生産量は現在の400億個か
2020年までに半減し、100万トンの二
化炭素削減にもつながるとしていま
。
また、洗濯機製品ライン「AQUA」も展
されました。オゾンを注入した水で
油汚れを洗浄する「オゾンすすぎ」
10分のドライウォッシュで衣服の殺
・脱臭・洗浄を行う「エアウォッシ
3」、使用済みの風呂水にオゾンを
入して浄化し、衣服の洗濯に再利用
きる「アクアループダイレクト」な
ど、環境保護機能が数多く搭載され
おり、一度の洗濯で使用する水道水
量を一般的な洗濯機の174リットルか
ら7リットルにまで節約することがで
ます。

Drawing the its name and inspiration from the
early days of plane aviation, The Suzuki's Biplane
was designed to give the rider a sensation of
flight and an increased sense of freedom.
The Biplane design uses a V-4 engine with a girder
fork in the front and rim mounted disc brakes.
The cylinder heads and exhaust headers are
visible on the rear sides which mimics the design
of the classic airplane. The exhuast is hidden
under the cowling and the link-type rear
suspension can be seen just below the seat.
A futuristic display panel is built into the top
of the bike instead of conventional meters and
since this is only a concept bike there are no
plans for commercialization as of yet.
