This is a Video Tutorial on how to get 3.71 M33
Custom Firmware Installed on your PSP. In order to
do this, you will need:
-A PSP that is already running 3.52 M33-3, 3.52
M33-4, or 3.60 M33 (For Slim PSP).
-The Official 3.71 Update EBOOT.
-The 3.71 M33 Custom Firmware ZIP file.

You probably have looked for the 1.8 firmware on
Samsung's site.. It's not there.. The YP in YP-T9
comes from the T9's original designer, Yepp.. On
yepp website in south korea, they offer the 1.8
firmware, just install it, and switch to the
English language, so you can use the interface..
It comes with some flash games (you will not be
able to figure out).. But an added feature is you
can convert and install flash games that will work
on the T9.. How you do it is you get a converter
from the "anything but ipod" website:

It's the converter that requires you to place a
bunch of swf files in a directory and execute the
program, it then creates a "Converted" directory
in an adjacent folder with the converted SWF
files, then you just move them to the T9, and try
executing each in the T9 by using the file browser
on the T9..
In this video I show you where the official games
hang out, and it's possible that those standard
games could be replaced with custom games so that
you could reach them from the Games menu.. I tried
a few flash games on the T9 but only one had a
view big enough to recognize and that was
Tic-Tac-Toe.. But it proved to me that it can be
done, it's just a matter of someone doing it now..
Some games worked in horizontal mode using the
wider side of the T9, so I believe someone in the
T9 group will find some good games to put on the
T9..
The biggest feature of the T9 with the Firmware
1.8 is you can connect your T9 to a non-windows
Operating System.. In my case, I was able to
connect it to Ubuntu.. And furthermore Ubuntu was
smart enough to identify the video format of the
files in the T9's movie area and even play the
videos directly from the T9 without transfer..
The T9 uses open source codecs, mainly XVID which
is the open source fork of DIVX (XVID is DIVX
backwards).. I think part of the reason why the T9
uses open source codecs is that it is based on
vxWorks.. The T9's operating system is vxWorks, an
embedded version of Linux!! Aslo supposedly the
same OS that the mars lander uses.. The 1.8
Firmware also, supposedly, support Ogg audio
format.. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard
from some that it is not that good.. Oh well..
In Ubuntu with all the media extensions enabled,
all videos and audio files look the same.. I've
found few cases where I was not able to watch
video.. I don't listen to enough mp3 files to
determine how well it fairs there, but media
formats are not an issue at all in Ubuntu.
