| Queen Mary Slips In |
 |
A spectacular entrance: The Queen Mary 2 luxury
liner made its maiden call to the Port of San
Francisco on February 4, 2007. Surrounded by a
flotilla of ships, yachts and escorted by a San
Francisco fire boat, Queen Mary 2 circled the
harbor before docking at Pier 27. Thanks to
Cindy, Kristin, Rosie and Bill (the GBTimelapse
film crew) for their help running six cameras in
three bay area locations. This video was created
using GBTimelapse and a Canon digital still
camera. To see how it was made, visit

| Great Reno Balloon Race 2007 |
 |
The Glow Show and Dawn Patrol are followed by the
American Bald Eagle. Then 100 balloons take off in
a mass ascension with Smokey Bear, the Energizer
Bunny and the Northern Nevada Dairymen Cow. Great
weather and perfect winds this year kept the
balloons over the field for the entire event.

thanks to Jennifer Sanzi and Chuck Malley for
their help in getting access for me and my camera

| Placerqatsi |
 |
Inspired by director Ron Fricke's films,
Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka, and Chronos, Placerqatsi is
a look at life in Placer County, California. Qatsi
is the Hopi word "life" giving Placerqatsi's the
simple meaning "Life in Placer County". Ordinary
human activities seem boring and mundane until
seen in a different time scale revealing a pattern
and rhythm of movement not otherwise apparent.
Placer county activities captured over a one year
time span are shown as if they occurred during a
prototypical single day. People are shown
working, playing, eating and shopping in the midst
of the natural beauty that surrounds them.
Thanks to Brokenkites (brokenkites.com) for use of
the wonderful song "Into the Light".

a story about a guy who's writing the story of his
life
--------
I used GBTimelapse
(http://www.granitebaysoftware.com/) to shoot all
the stop motion involving the action figures
(walking, lying on bed, typing, playing with the
gun, going to the office, etc).
I didn't use it for the stop motion movement of
the background photos though.
The black, pink, and grey action figures are
Stikfas, and the office set, the "boss" and
"bartender" are The Cubes toys. Tags : animation gbtimelapse typing computer stopmotion stikfas cartoon experimental independent indie suicide thecubes taiwan |

| YouTube Birthday Flaming Tribute |
 |
February 15, 2007 is YouTube's second birthday. We
mark the occasion by this short tribute to several
of YouTube's most popular directors and a thank
you to the founders Chad and Steve. This is also
a lesson in what not to do with a birthday cake --
Please don't try this at home! Didn't you always
want to put too many candles on a birthday cake?
Thanks to Brokenkites.com for allowing us to use
the song "Beneath", and thanks to Kristin and
Cynthia for their help doing the candles.
