Sinistri are: Manuele Giannini (guitar,
electronics, speaker), Roberto Bertacchini (drums,
percussion), Alessandro Bocci (electronics,
computer), Dino Bramanti (basses, beats, sampling,
code). Sinistri, formerly known as Starfuckers, is
an experimental music unit with drums,
electronics, guitar and occasional voice, based in
Italy. After their late 80's/90's Starfuckers
operations, Sinistri was born and kept on moving
forward, establishing a highly unique musical
language based on nonmetric rhythms, minimal riffs
and improvisational vamps, still retaining traces
of proto-punk, black and contemporary classical
music. Sinistri's music comes out through a
relentless, ruthlessly syncopated, broken and
fragmented groove, which filters -through a raw
rock perspective- techniques and primal elements
of funk, dub, free jazz, blues, impro, concrete
and electro-acoustic music. As Sinistri they have
released "Free Pulse" CD (Hapna, 2005), "Timing
The 183K Pulse" CD (Utech Records, 2006) and
tracks in various compilations and projects.
Recent collaboration work with dance/performance
group MK, "Funzione" (MK/sinistri 2006), has been
premiered at Santarcangelo06 International
Festival of the Arts. Collaboration with video
media artists Donnachie/Simionato, "The Single
Unit of Beauty", has been premiered at Netmage06
festival. Drawings by Mattia Di Rosa. BAND
