A tortured man is caught in a middle-ground
between hallucination and reality in this
supernatural thriller. Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins)
is a Vietnam veteran who is haunted by a horrible
experience in battle that deeply troubles him,
though he can't clearly recall the details. Jacob
also cannot free himself of his anxieties over the
death of his son. Though well educated, Jacob
works as a letter carrier and has become
romantically involved with one of his co-workers,
Jezzie (Elizabeth Pena), after divorcing his wife.
Jacob's tenuous hold on reality starts to slip as
he begins seeing visions of monsters and demons
all around him; he suffers severe panic attacks
related to the chaos that may be reality, or may
exist only in his mind. Jacob seeks counsel from
Louis (Danny Aiello), a kindly chiropractor, as
his ex-wife Sarah (Patricia Kalember), fellow
Vietnam vet Paul (Pruitt Taylor Vince), and
enigmatic stranger Michael (Matt Craven) all try
to help the tortured Jacob. Macaulay Culkin
appears briefly as Jacob's son, while Jason
Alexander, Ving Rhames, and Eriq LaSalle also
highlight the supporting cast.

Lost season one episode one. Four (4) minutes into
the Lost premiere, Jack calls for help in rescuing
a trapped flight 815 survivor from under part of
the aircraft. Several men respond with John Locke
wearing the light colored short sleeve shirt.
Wearing a long sleeve dark colored shirt, is a
mysterious third man, who is the focus of this
short video.
In an interview with Michael Emerson recorded in
June 2007, Emerson reveals the actor that plays
Jacob, has worked on Lost before, in a non
speaking role. Could the actor assisting Jack in
the pilot episode, be the same actor that appears
3 years later as Jacob?
This video begins by highlighting the actor in
question. Note the actor's profile. The second
part of the video is unedited from the original
for reference purposes, to show where the "Jacob"
clip was drawn.
The last portion of this video repeats the actor
in profile, with an audio clip from the 2007
Emerson interview that pertains to "Jacob's"
earlier appearance.
