De KVK is er van overtuigd dat de niche
energiebesparing op een termijn van een vijftal
jaar honderden nieuwe jobs in de sociale economie
kan opleveren. Tewerkstelling voor kansengroepen
kan zo gecombineerd worden met milieuvoordelen,
terugverdieneffecten, verhoging van het
wooncomfort en bestrijding van armoede. De KVK zal
de mogelijkheden van deze nieuwe niche verder in
kaart brengen en bekendmaken, bestaande en
kandidaat-ondernemers bijeenbrengen in
samenwerkingsverbanden ... Bedoeling is een
gebiedsdekkend netwerk van
energiebesparingsbedrijven in de sociale economie
uit te bouwen. "Wonen en Werken" is een perfect
voorbeeld van een sociale economie bedrijf dat op
deze niche rond rationeel energieverbruik (REG)
inspeelt. Een van hun ploegen werkt specifiek rond
dit thema. Hun klusploegen helpen senioren bij het
energiezuinig maken van hun woning. In 2007 zou er
ook een energieteam opgezet worden. Dat wil zich
gaan toespitsen op het isoleren van daken bij
mensen uit kansengroepen met de bedoeling tot
energiezuiniger woningen te komen.
