| Happy Manners Day! |
 |
Just because I do not always have them, I do love
good manners. I think a little social order is a
good thing. In San Francisco, where I've never met
more men who will NOT open the door for a
woman--even when on a date--could use a little
manner review. And of course, I am sure it comes
as no surprise most people's traffic manners are
abysmal.
Well, lets start with some kiddie manners. At
Beverly Hills Manners there is a great survey to
take. Here is a sample question.
We live in a time where bad manners are running
rampant. People are offending others without care.
Here's an opportunity to select your biggest
manners pet peeve:
People who show up late without apologizing
People who fiddle with their cell phones and
Blackberry's during dinner
People who insist on using foul language
People who talk with their mouth full
People who do not respond to emails
People who cut in line
I chose "People who cut in line" which are yours? Tags : coolmom.com Cool Mom Dahne Brogdon moms parenting dads |

| BAD MANNERS - LIP UP FATTY |
 |
Fronted by Buster Bloodvessel (born Douglas
Trendle), the band was formed in 1976 while the
members were at school together, and among their
early incarnations were known as Stoop Solo and
the Sheet Starchers. None of the members had any
formal musical training, not even the ability to
play any instruments. They were popular during the
late 1970s and early 1980s, a period when lots of
similar ska bands filled the charts. Some of their
hits include "My Girl Lollipop", "Lip Up Fatty",
"Special Brew" and "Ne-Ne-Na-Na-Na-Na-Nu-Nu". One
of the main reasons for their notoriety was
because of their outlandish, larger-than-life,
huge tongued & shaven-headed front man. Buster's
exploits got them banned from the British TV chart
show Top of the Pops[citation needed](which
included dressing as Henry VIII and singing to a
blow-up doll for the song "Lorraine", pouring a
large can of baked beans over his head, and
dressing in a can-can dancer's dress to promote
their single "Can-Can"). They were also banned
from Italian TV when Buster had decided after a
particularly successful concert that he should
moon the crowd, having been told that the Pope was
watching on TV.[1]
Despite having scored many hits and featuring
prominently in the UK charts of the early 1980s,
Bad Manners are perhaps most renowned for their
song "Special Brew". The song is ambiguous in
meaning, but the most common interpretation of the
song is that it is a love song to the famous
alcoholic drink after which it appears to be
named. Tags : bad manners lip up fatty buster skinhead the specials jam madness english beat selecter 2tone ska |

| BAD MANNERS - SPECIAL BREW (LIVE) 2004 |
 |
Special Brew is a very strong lager (sometimes
known as premium lager) brewed in Denmark and the
United Kingdom. It comes in a can with a
distinctive gold and red colour.
Special Brew was first brewed by Carlsberg to
commemorate a visit to Denmark of Winston
Churchill in 1950. In May 1951 two crates were
delivered to Churchill's London home. In a thank
you letter Churchill called the drink
"Commemoration Lager". In Denmark the drink was
called PÃ¥skebryg (Easter Brew), but has been
taken off the market. For the British market
Carlsberg called the drink Special Brew and
production was started in Northampton in the
1950s.
At 9% alcohol Special Brew is one of the strongest
lagers freely available in the United Kingdom,
without going to a specialist shop. Some people
will say that Special Brew should more properly be
described as a Barley wine, rather than a lager. Tags : skinhead lip fatty ska 2tone the jam specials selecter english beat madness dance craze |
