Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria,
is set around the shores of Victoria's Port
Phillip Bay and boasts a lively and cosmopolitan
pulse, with chic boutiques, buzzing cafes and
bars, immaculate gardens and festivals and popular
sporting events. The city sits on the Yarra River,
about five kilometres from the bay.
One glance at a map and it's obvious Melbourne is
a planned city: a tidy, balanced grid of neatly
angled streets. But beneath this sense of
restraint lies a restless creative energy.
Discover the work of talented local artists,
architects and designers in stylish fashion
boutiques, buzzing laneway cafes, hidden galleries
and trendy bars.
Melbourne is a city of style and sophistication,
with an inviting cosmopolitan atmosphere. It is a
melting pot of cultures reflected in its microcosm
of restaurants, cafes, bistros and bars.
Melbourne's dining offers a dizzying spread of
great cuisines, serving meals from the substantial
and classic to the truly exotic.
From locally designed originals to the best of
international fashion brands you'll be spoilt for
choice in Melbourne's shopping precincts. Explore
the inner city shopping centres and the city's
myriad of arcades and laneways.
The CBD is made up of many precincts - enclaves
with their own distinct flavour and charm. Some
are just a lane or two, while others cover a
suburb or a busy CBD street. Spend time
experiencing the richness of Melbourne's different
cultures from the Greek Quarter around Lonsdale
Street, Italian in Lygon street, Vietnamese in
Victoria Street to the Chinese culture in
Chinatown and the upmarket Paris End of Collins
Street.
Leave time to admire the elegant Victorian-era
streetscapes, take in a film or food festival and
add a visit to one of the many galleries and
opulent theatres.

FUNNY RANDOM FACTS ABOUT AUSTALIA:
-Their cheeses don't make me run to the toilet.
Nor do their meats. I seem to have a problem with
American dairy products.
-Their junk food is expensive, but their healthy
food is cheap. So if chocolate is an aphrodisiac,
you'll be very sexually frustrated when you can't
afford a candy bar.
-They have a lot of bugs since they're not so
heavy into pest control. Bring bug repellent and
a bat when you come to visit. Don't be afraid to
by stupid looking hats to keep the flies away
either!
-If you ever go to Melbourne, don't be afraid to
walk down a dark alley. You may see some very
impressive art. Just watch where you step... they
also seem to serve as public restrooms from time
to time.
-Go to Koala Cove while driving on The Great Ocean
Road! Seriously, it's cool! Oh yeah, and they
REALLY do sell POO!
-Stay away from Vegemite if you didn't grow up on
it. To me, it smells like fish bait and tastes
like medicine.
-Many American restaurants are called something
completely different, but they are there. For
example, Burger King is Hungry Jacks and Red Robin
is still gross.
-They don't tip because the waiters make good
money, but get ready to spend more money on the
meal.
-Australians don't put another shrimp on the
barbie unless you want your ass kicked.
-Toilets don't really flush the other way. My
dreams were crushed when I found that out.
-The holes in their toilets are about 3 times
bigger than American toilet holes. That's because
Australians are more full of... thinking time : )
-They drive on the left side of the road. That'll
play with your head for a while, lol.
WHY WAS I SO SAD LOOKING:
I wasn't sad... I was tired from all the editing I
had been doing to make this video the best I could
make it. It was very hard to express the
experience in the way that I felt it, through a 10
minute video.
