A film I made for my 9th grade science class. If
the title isn't revealing enough, it's about Sir
Isaac Newton's 3 Laws of Physics.
For the record, yes, I realize that I made a
mistake with Newton's Second Law. I know that the
ball should have been measured in kilograms rather
than grams, and that it really should be 2000
m/s^2. Tags :brickfilmlegoMindGameStudiosIsaacNewtonPhysicsLaws
Movie of Newton's Method generated fractal.
Usually people zoom into a fractal; however, I
chose to change the parameters of the equation I'm
solving. The equation is something like
f(z)=(z-z_1)^p_1 * (z-z_2)^p_2 * ... * (z-z_n)^p_n
Each root (z_i) is associated with a color. I
have something like p_1(t) = 1+cos(t). So these
aren't polynomials any more -- but they produce a
really neat animation. I can generate them in
real-time for 300x200 sizes on my MacbookPro
2.4Ghz. Tags :fractalmathematicsnewton'smethodcomputerartpsychedelic
