VIDEO TIMELINE OF NOTEWORTHY EVENTS:
Dr. Shanara Reid Brinkley escalates the
disagreement between her and Dr. William "Bill"
Shanahan at 0:07 minutes.
Brinkley exclaims, "Yes cuz I'm a fucking girl and
we fight" at 0:20.
Shanahan moons at 0:35.
Brinkley puts her fingers around her waist band in
a possible attempt to pull her pants down between
0:37 and 0:40.
Brinkley attempts to but refrains from sucker
punching Shanahan at 0:43.
ML Sandoz, Senior Lecturer from Vanderbilt
University, tries to separate the two fighters at
0:50 but Shanahan pushes Sandoz's hand away.
Brinkley complains that "You [Shanahan] fucking
walk around and act like you do shit" at 0:58.
Shanahan expresses confusion over Brinkley's
accusation between 1:02 and 1:50. Brinkley leaves
the scene.
Shanahan declares that he is "so adult about
this." He also declares that "it is not about
maturity or immaturity." This begins at 1:56.
Shanahan tries to rationalize his behavior and
explain the reasons behind competitive debating
between from 2:04 through 5:15.
James Roland, Emory University's Vice President
and Dean, speaks with Shanahan at 2:52.
Shanahan states, "I'm not ashamed of my behavior"
and "I don't think I'm acting immaturely" starting
at 3:18.
Brinkley reappears and begins another fight at
5:20. This second fight continues until 6:25.
Deven Cooper, a student from Towson University,
expresses his feelings beginning at 6:30.
Cooper argues with Shanahan at 6:40.
Cooper breaks down in tears at 7:14 and Shanara
comforts him. Shanara agrees with Cooper that this
is about race.
ML Sandoz gives a passionate speech from 7:28
through 8:48 . She receives an applause.
OBSERVATIONS:
Notice how the video camera operator focuses on
filming Shanahan and not Brinkley. Why is this so?
Notice how Shanahan was dismissed from teaching at
Fort Hays State University but Brinkley was not
dismissed from teaching at the University of
Pittsburgh. Again, why is this so?

TI Brings out JAY Z, Kanye west, 50 Cents and P
Diddy in New York NYC @ MSG screamfest
August 22, 2007 - Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent,
Diddy, T.I., Ciara, Make Hip-Hop History
Artists performed and appeared together onstage
— all of 'em! — at Screamfest stop Wednesday
night
NEW YORK - There were close to 20,000 people at
Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, and it's
pretty much a given that none of them believe what
they saw. Just imagine how much they've been
calling, texting and MySpacing since the show.
Heck, you might not even believe this when you
read it, but as wrestling legend Kurt Angle would
say, "It's true. It's damn true."
T.I. orchestrated a mammoth hip-hop moment, a
piece of history in the form of an onstage party
featuring the cream of the crop in hip-hop: T.I.,
Jay-Z, Diddy, Swizz Beatz, Ciara, Kanye West and
50 Cent. They were all onstage performing and
partying together ... as in, everybody was onstage
at the same time.
But T.I.'s round two was utterly remarkable - and
is one for the history books. The crowd had
already showered him with love as he shot from the
throne hits like "Top Back," "24's," "Why You
Wanna," "Rubber Band Man" and "Bring Em Out" - a
great show in its own right. But what he did to
end his set was one of the few things missing from
his career: a coronation at one the most famous
venues in the world. He'd done shows at Madison
Square Garden before, but never his show.
Wyclef Jean broke T.I..'s halftime silence by
playing the national anthem on guitar. 'Clef later
ran into the crowd during "My Swag." Then Tip
started another cut from his album, "Watch What
You Say." After the first verse, a banner of
Jay-Z's hands throwing up the dynasty sign rolled
down the back of the stage.
Jay-Z then began to stroll down a long runway, to
the main stage, in the middle of the Garden. The
crowd must not have believe its eyes, because
there was no reaction at first. Once Jay started
to rap his lines -- "Rap music is something ain't
it? The way these pictures is painted/ You swear
these n----s is dangerous, the gangsta sh-- they
be saying" -- the audience went wild.
After "Watch What You Say," Jay let everyone know
the Roc was in the building - and the music
brought the point home big time. As Kanye West's
"Can't Tell Me Nothing" started to play, 'Ye
himself walked slowly from the runway to the main
stage. During all this, 50 ran to the stage from
another part of the venue - seemingly unplanned,
because Jay and T.I. both looked a little
surprised.
But there were no incidents and no signs of
rivalries -- as Kanye rapped, 50 ran around the
stage like he was doing a victory lap, stopping
along the way to bump shoulders and say what's up
to Tip, 'Ye and Jay. Then, out of nowhere, Diddy
ran up and got onstage with them. Although the
audience was rocking to West, the spectacle of
seeing everybody together onstage - especially the
two guys who have been hyping their September 11
in-store showdown (see " Kanye West Thanks 50 Cent
For Much-Hyped Rivalry: 'We Push Each Other' " and
"50 Cent Explains Last Week's Blowup, Says 'I Will
Be #1 On September 11' ") - on one stage at the
same time took precedence They were all smiling
and dancing and genuinely enjoying the
camaraderie.
Jay-Z then did one of his classics, "Encore," and
the show ended with everyone in the Garden
unanimously cheering and making the Roc sign. Some
fans were saying that the cheers in the Garden
sounded louder than when close to 60,000 at Giants
Stadium did the same thing a few years ago during
Summer Jam.
With everyone still hanging out onstage, Swizz
Beatz and Ciara eventually made it to the stage as
well, with Swizz doing one of the biggest records
in rap right now, "Money in the Bank."
T.I. and Ciara ended their triumphant New York
visit with renditions of his "What You Know?" and
"Big Things Poppin'." CiCi proclaimed herself
"Queen of the South," and rightly so.

| Decomposition of Baby Pigs |

Dr. Jerry Payne's time lapse movie of the
decomposition of a baby pig. The technique of
time-lapse photography is employed to illustrate
the rapid removal of carrion (4 days reduced to
approximately 6 minutes). The film demonstrates
the sequence of tissue destruction and the role of
insects in the ultimate dismemberment of the pig
carcass and soil movement. The pink and purple
beads were added to show the intense activities of
the insects in moving the carcass and soil.
Payne writes..."My study was the first "detailed"
study of succession in animal decomposition and
the first with the pig as the model. The
significance of the pig is that it closely
approximates the human body (skin, body hair, size
etc.) so the data generated could be used in
modern forensic science to approximate the time of
human deaths. At that time it was simply not
possibly (moral/ethical/legal concerns) to perform
decompositon studies with human corpses, I know
because I tried and was denied. Even so there
were many instances where some concerned person
buried my research pigs."
The pigs used in the experiment were dead when
Jerry Payne picked them up from local farmers.
Mama pigs (sows) often lay down on their tiny
piglets and crush them. This was very common on
small farms and led to the invention and
deployment of farrowing pens(birthing pens) where
the sow is contained and the piglets have a heated
space where they are not in danger of being
crushed.
Flies have four life stages: adult (the fly),
egg, larva (the maggot) and pupa. Maggots crawl
into dark, secluded places to pupate (the stage
where they undergo the transformation from maggot
to adult). Since the maggots are white or cream
colored they are easily seen and taken by
predators. Going undergroundand away from the
carcass offers protection from uv light and
predators and allows them seclusion to pupate.
This pupal stage is immobile. Maggots don't have
to burrow into the soil as they could easily
conceal themselves in leaf litter or any decayed
organic material.
