More than any other hybrid we've driven, the 2007
Toyota Camry Hybrid has the most seamless
transition between electric motor and gasoline
engine. If we didn't tell you it was a hybrid and
let you drive it, we doubt you would notice. And
unlike Toyota's Prius, which was purposely
designed to look special with its little shifter
and Alpine cable car-like design, the Camry Hybrid
looks almost identical to the non-hybrid Camry.

You might have thought, as we did, that the
world's most perfect, tidy, eminently usable
folding soft top didn't need to be replaced by a
power-operated folding hardtop. Particularly in a
simple, elemental car like the Mazda MX-5 Miata,
the inevitable added weight and complexity could
dull its reflexes and blur its focus.

With a void left by the L300 sedan, which saw the
axe in 2005, Saturn needs a strong player in the
competitive midsize sedan segment in order to
justify its existence. It needs the new 2007
Saturn Aura to be a Mr. Wolfe. Tags :CarAutoCarsDriving2007SaturnAuraXERoadTestEdmunds'InsideLine
At this moment, the 2007 GMC Sierra Denali is the
most powerful pickup in regular production that
money can buy.
Dodge let the insane Ram SRT-10 fade away last
year, Ford hasn't built the beloved F-150
Lightning since 2003 and the newly muscular Toyota
Tundra is more than 20 horsepower behind. In fact
the only open-bed contraption that matches the
Sierra Denali pony-for-pony is the Cadillac
Escalade EXT, which shares GM's 403-horsepower,
6.2-liter OHV V8 and six-speed automatic
transmission. Tags :CarTruckSUVDriving2007GMCSierraDenaliRoadTestEdmunds'InsideLine
