7/15/08 Okay update Time. Well many months ago I bought a new Panasonic and returned the Sony handy cam. Sony Vegas functions well with cameras that record in avi format/ or wmv....They sony handycam recorded in mpeg4 or something....great camera..just sucks for video editing. So Ask the guy you get the camera from does it record in AVI? After 9 months of great work the camcorder has developed a little problem and it seems to be related to the swivel action on the miniview display. When I spin the display around and lay it down flat on the camera, the problem stops. But it's very hard to record while it's going on and this video shows how the problem can be anoying to record with.
