The igil is a bowed folk instrument from the
country of Tuva (near Mongolia), and is
traditionally used to accompany Tuvan Throat
Singing. I play some traditional style igil,
because acoustically it's a wonderful sounding
unique instrument that can create sounds like
nothing else. My own music sounds much different
than the traditional style, as I continue to find
my own path with the instrument.
