"Ba-Ba-Bankrobbery" is a song by the Austrian
comedy band Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung (EAV
for short). The song is a translation of one of
their most famous songs: "Ba-Ba-Banküberfall"!
The English version peaked at #63 in the UK
singles chart in 1986. But I think they weren't
very fluent in English, because the German lyrics
are way better than the English lyrics.

Old Mother Hubbard,
my cupboard is bare
and my last few checks are bouncing everywhere.
No scraps for the cat,

because my phone's cut off.

but she didn't lift a finger.
The cashier said: "Sonny, stop messing around!",

Die Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung (kurz: EAV)
ist eine österreichische Popband, die 1977
gegründet wurde. Texter und Komponist der Band
ist Thomas Spitzer. Der Name ist eine Anlehnung an
das ehemalige österreichische
Versicherungsunternehmen „Erste Allgemeine
Versicherungs-AG, das sich jedoch mit EA
abkürzte.
