Simply legend is he & he will always be one
certainly in North London with Arsenal where he
spent 9 years of his time with them before he
moved to Juve in 2005
A unknown signing when unknown manager at that
point Arsene Wenger signed the young Frenchman in
1996 from AC Milan he rose to become the midfield
master of Arsenal winning the FA cup 4 times & the
league 3 times
He was captain after Tony Adams hung up his boots
& was the leader of the greatest Arsenal side ever
when they went a whole season in the league
unbeaten also carrying on the record with a 49
game run which ended at Old Trafford against
Manchester United but in the same season which
turned out to be his last he scored in his last
ever kick for the club a penalty which won Arsenal
the FA cup against Manchester United in Cardiff
back in 2005
When he left Arsenal to Juve Arsenal didn't do
very well without there man but when Arsenal got
drawn in the champions league against them Vieira
returned to Highbury for the last time & faced up
against the young midfielder Cesc Fabregas who was
his student for a year at Arsenal & on the night
Arsenal took him & the rest of the team down for a
2-0 & Cesc proving then that we didn't need him
He got stripped of his Seri A title due to the
match fixing in Italy & since moved to Inter Milan
again winning the title unbeaten
But even with him winning the Italian league is
never going to be the same as his time was at
Highbury
