| Vivisection |

Toutes les espèces animales sont utilisées en
expérimentation animale. Lors de ces
expérimentations, soit les animaux meurent dans
des conditions de douleur intense, soit ils sont
sacrifiés à la fin de l'expérimentation pour
des analyses post-mortem (prélèvements d'organes
ou de tissus en vue d'examens ou analyses, des
dégâts provoqués par la substance...), soit ils
sont euthanasiés car les lésions causés par
l'expérience sont trop importantes et ils ne sont
plus viables. Même le lot témoin (qui ne subit
aucun traitement) sera sacrifié afin de comparer
les analyses d'autopsie.Il arrive également qu'un
animal soit « ré-utilisé » pour une deuxième
expérience. Mais, il ne peut selon la
législation européenne, sauf exception
justifiée, être procédé sans anesthésie ou
analgésique à plus d'une intervention
douloureuse par animal !
Selon la législation française et européenne,
les tests sur les animaux sont obligatoires pour
s'assurer de l'innocuité des médicaments, des
produits chimiques, des cosmétiques ...
L'expérimentation animale est aussi pratiquée en
recherche, dans l'enseignement et l'armement. Mais
dans ces domaines, aucune législation n'existe.
Seuls l'expérimentateur et le laboratoire doivent
avoir une autorisation pour expérimenter. Les
protocoles ne sont pas réglementés et laissés
au libre choix de l'expérimentateur.
Dans les laboratoires, les animaux sont
empoisonnés légalement : test d'irritation
(peau, œil), mutagénicité, génotoxicité,
toxicité aiguë (voie orale, dermique,
inhalation) et toxicité à doses répétées,
toxicocinétique, cancérogénicité, toxicité
pour la reproduction, neurotoxicité,
immunotoxicité
Les expérimentations les plus connues sont :
Le test de Draize : ce test est pratiqué le plus
souvent sur des lapins, mais il peut aussi être
appliqué sur des chiens ou des singes. La tête
maintenue dans un carcan, l'animal reçoit dans
les yeux des produits chimiques. Il peut arriver
que les yeux soient maintenus ouverts de force,
par des écarteurs métalliques. Les lésions de
la cornée sont étudiées sur plusieurs jours,
l'animal étant vivant. Les traumatismes varient
de la démangeaison jusqu'à la crevaison de
l'oeil. Le test d'irritation de la peau : L'animal
est rasé, puis sa peau et incisée. Dans les
plaie sont appliqué les produits à tester
(crème, parfum, etc.) Puis l'animal est laissé
dans sa cage, sans soins, afin d'observer les
lésions et leurs importances.Test de
photo-toxicité : On expose à des lampes
ultraviolets des rongeurs épilés et enduits du
produit à tester afin d'évaluer les réactions
de ce produit aux rayons solaires.

| Frog Vivisection |

Note: THIS IS NOT FOR THE WEAK-HEARTED!!! A
vivisection differs from a disection in that it is
done when the frog's heart is still beating. This
was an extra thing the lab assistants after we
studied William Harvey's On the Motion of the
Heart and Blood in Animals. The book
revolutionized science in that it revealed the
cirrculatory system of the heart and disproved
Galen's theories which had been the accepted
scientific thought on the heart for several
centuries.

| Demo against breeding farm and vivisection lab |

May 16th 2006, Moscow region (Russia) - About 50
animal rights activists suddenly appeared in front
of breeding farm unexpected for farm's staff. They
lighted alarm fires and started to throw stones
inside the farm. At the same time one group of
activists hanged 5 meters banner saying "No to
experiments on animals!" over barbed wire of
farm's fence. One more banner "Vivisectors are
fascists!" was put on the fence as well.
A siren sound from a megaphone accompanied
activists, when they scanned slogans. Other group
made spray paint slogans against use of animals in
experiments on breeding farm fencing.
Simultaneously with it, some activists have broken
on territory, having broken a gate, then threw
stones and alarm fires. As a result two windows
were broken in buildings where there were no
animals.
Employees of the breeding farm and security could
not stop defenders of animals in any way and they
were simply observing. The action was going on not
for a long time, all have left area of breeding
farm before arrival of militia.
The reason for the action was the fact that in
this breeding farm of Institute of Bioorganic
Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences they
breed mice, rats and hamsters for use in severe
experiments. In breeding farm "Puschino" they grow
up animals specialy for the pharmaceutical and
biotechnological companies of Russia and the CIS
countries. Such foreign companies as the Jackson
Laboratory, Harlan Sprague Dawley, Charles River
Laboratories and Taconic are animal suppliers for
this breeding farm.
Representatives of "Alliance for Animal Rights"
state: "Painful experiments on animals is a
business on the blood spilled by animals only
because of many scientists with conservative
views till now consider they are necessary, and
others make money on experiments. To receive
financial grants for researches it is necessary to
write regularly a plenty of scientific works. It's
much easier to get money if it is specified that
researches will pass on animals as the result will
be received more quickly. Large pharmaceutical
monsters have no time to wait -- they need fast
profit. The alternatives though little bit longer
but save money and provide more exact results".
Russian animal rights activists have organized
actions against experiments on animals this year
already. In Moscow actions have passed near
offices of the largest pharmaceutical companies.
During of the Open doors at Biological Deportment
of the Moscow State University activists have
opened a banner in front of speaker on a tribune
and loudly scanned slogans. Later they have hung
out a banner on building of the State Medical
University.
