| Mike & The Mechanics - A Beggar On A Beach Of Gold |
 |
"Mike & The Mechanics" are an English rock/pop
band formed in 1985 as a side project of Mike
Rutherford, a founding member of Genesis, that
became a successful band in its own right. They
are best known for their hit singles "Silent
Running (On Dangerous Ground)", "All I Need Is a
Miracle", "Over My Shoulder", "The Living Years"
and "Word of Mouth".
The main line up for the band were Rutherford,
vocalists Paul Carrack and the late Paul Young
(formerly of chart band Sad Café), keyboardist
Adrian Lee and drummer Peter Van Hooke. By their
1995 album Beggar on a Beach of Gold only
Rutherford, Carrack and Young were permanent
members of the line-up until Young's death in
2000.
"A Beggar On A Beach Of Gold" was the second
single released from their 1995 & 4th album of the
same name. It reached #33 on the UK charts in June
of that same year.

*Note: If you are a Record Company employee or
artist(s) themselves who object(s) to this
commercially unavailable video footage being
promoted on YouTube (albeit in a lossy mono audio
format) then please contact us to have it removed
before flagging it. At the same time you may also
like to explain to the fans why they cannot access
this classic material in a decent quality digital
format anywhere else?
"You won't make a profit on something that cannot
be purchased but enough exposure may well help
sell what you actually do have for sale. Meanwhile
to share ones talents is the greatest of gifts!"
Please also be aware that all videos uploaded to
YouTube are format shifted by the host website
from the original files. This can often cause
picture & sound deterioration (i.e. mono audio) as
well as the occasional video/audio synchronization
issue. The files are also deliberately layered on
our end with logos and artists links in order to
prevent YouTube recycling by lazy up-loaders,
while at the same time helping to promote the
artists themselves!
