2007 Titan Desert Mountain Bike Marathon to hit the southern dunes

The 2nd Titan Desert MTB Marathon will hit the dunes of the southern province of Errachidia on April 27 through May 2.

The six-day adventure race, which will bring together bikers from Spain, Italy, France, Andorre, Belgium, the USA, Portugal and Morocco, is organized by The MTB Grup, known for its expertise in the world of the engines and adventure.

The 450km-competition is open to all bike-lovers, amateurs willing to test themselves, adventurous participants physically and mentally-prepared and top-class sportsmen either active or retired. The competition is also suitable for mountain bike enthusiasts, as well as anyone keen on pedal sports.

There will be five days of intense emotions. The route of every stage will not be revealed until the preceding night.

One of the stages will be a marathon, therefore any kind of assistance at the arrival will not be allowed. Every participant will only be allowed to make use of the material he or she has at that stage. Food, water and medical service will be available at the camp.

The use of GPS is allowed and recommended. The organization will deliver the coordinates of every pass control, as well as points of special interest.

The purpose is not speed, but the self experience-feeling every moment and enjoying the landscape. The marathon is a test of oneself, of one’s limits and an opportunity to better oneself. The 2006 edition brought together some 140 bikers.
